About us

A small, local collection of Smokies hotels.

We're not a national chain. We're a handful of hand-picked properties at the doorstep of the Great Smoky Mountains, run by people who actually live here.

Our story

Built for the Smokies, by people who know them.

Stay in Smokies started with a simple frustration: travelers were paying booking-site markups on hotels that we knew, drove past, and could vouch for personally. The big platforms didn't know which Gatlinburg property is actually a five-minute walk to the park trailhead, or which Pigeon Forge front desk will tell you the best diner on the parkway. We did.

So we put together a small, curated collection — Days Inn & Suites, Motel 6, Best Western Plus Apple Valley Lodge, Hampton Inn & Suites, Quality Inn, and a couple of Mill Creek properties on the way — every one of them in or just outside the park. No franchise sprawl, no out-of-state ownership pulling the strings. Just locally-run hotels that the same team helps day in and day out.

When you book through Stay in Smokies, you get the direct rate, you get the local front desk on the phone, and the money goes to the people running the property — not to a middleman taking 15% off the top. That's the whole pitch.

Why book direct

The shortcut is the direct site.

Booking direct isn't a "loyalty perk." It's just the cleanest version of the transaction — best rate, real humans, no booking-site middle layer.

Best rate, guaranteed

No third-party markups. Direct is the lowest published rate, every time.

Flexible cancellation

Plans shift. Direct bookings are easier to change without OTA red tape.

Real local support

You get the actual front desk — not an offshore call center reading a script.

No hidden fees

The price you see is the price you pay. No booking fees layered on top.

What we believe

A good Smokies trip starts at the front desk.

The best part of a mountain trip isn't the hotel. It's the trail you didn't know about, the breakfast spot the locals actually go to, the back road that skips the parkway traffic. That kind of information doesn't live on a booking site — it lives behind the front desk.

Every property in our collection is run by people who can answer those questions. Ask about Clingmans Dome at sunset, where to park for Rainbow Falls, or whether the bears have been near the cabins this week. They'll actually know.

Ready when you are.

Browse the collection, pick the basecamp that fits your trip, and book direct.
